Fry Bread

  • 3 cups all purposed flour
  • 1,5 cup luke warm water
  • 1 tsp fresh yeast
  • 1 tsp salt
  • A pinch of sugar
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 cups of oil ( for fying )

  • Mozzarella
  • Cheddar cheese
  • Beef
  • Chicken
  • Spinach


  • Dissolve the yeast in the luke warm water , add the sugar and the salt
  • Place the flour in the mixing bowl then pour the water into the flour
  • It might be very sticky , so I use the silicon spatula to mix the doughfrybread4
  • Knead with the spatula and add the olive oil to the dough
  • Cover the mixing bowl with the plastic wrap
  • Wait until the dough become doubled size ( around 5-10 hours )
  • Prepare some wide flat surface for cutting the dough , you can use cutting board or some baking paper at the floor , just remember to spring a flour before you put the dough
  • Remember also put the flour on the surface for the dough, at your hands and at the rolling pin , even at the bread knife if you need too
  • Place the dough and pretend that you cutting some pizza or birthday cake
  • get the piece of the dough then roll it then use some round pastry molds ( if you don’t have this you can use mug , glass , or even free hands  )
  • spread some egg yolk at the surface
  • prepare some mozzarella , cheddar cheese , spinach or some beef , anything you want to stuffed inside , place it in the middle of the dough
  • fold the flat round dough , like if you fold the calzone , then make sure that its really close , you don’t want your cheese leak during frying , it’s a big mess !frybread3
  • heat some 3 cups oil , then start to fry the dough for 2-3 minutes both sidefrybread5
  • Spring a pinch of salt and ready to serve !
